The Theme Sound of Democracy: how everyday sound environments support, reflect and deflect democratic values will explore democratic values through everyday sound environments. More precisely, how everyday sound environments support, reflect and prevent democratic values.
All rooms and actions involve sound. At the same time, issues of democracy; inclusion in; access to; equality in, are relevant at all levels in society. In these contexts, sound has a particularly "inaudible" quality, sound does not follow visual, legal or ownership boundaries and will here be used as an element that transcends both disciplinary and territorial boundaries. Through an experimental and collective perception of sound, the Theme will contribute to the discussion and visibility of structures for equality, justice and inclusion.
